Esmée sat down with Stylebible to talk about her B.Tempt’d campaign and her career. It is a really nice interview, they asked her some really interesting questions. The full interview is added in our press archive, a preview can be found below:

Do you come from a creative family, are they supportive of your career path?
Hugely supportive, and I guess I should thank my sister for that webcam! My Dad has always been into music and I grew up listening to a wide range of records. I think they’re quite proud.

Did he have ideas about what sort of artist you should become or did he give you complete freedom?
I made it really clear from the beginning that I wanted to write – that’s one of my biggest passions – and he totally understood that. So he and I listened to a lot of songs I had written and worked on some of them, worked on some new ones and that’s really how the album came about.

There are currently a lot of female artists doing extremely well at the moment but what do you think will attract people to your music, what sets you apart?
I guess my story is pretty cool. Because of the way it all started I have stayed connected to my fans – they brought me to where I am now so I’m on Twitter and social networks all the time to connect to them. I really appreciate their opinions and I hope they find my story inspirational.

What have you got planned for the rest of 2010 and 2011
Its time to work on my second album. I’m brainstorming and writing right now and I hope it will be really special.

14 November, 2010 · Nina Magazine: Interview & Magazine Scans
Posted by · Category: Interview, Photogallery · 14 Comments

Esmée is gracing the cover of Nina Magazine as we updated you on before. Thanks to our amazing visitor Thijs we now have the magazine scans in our gallery. She looks absolutely beautiful, she photoshoot is truly amazing and I hope we can see the first outtakes soon. The photoshoot is inspired on Esmée’s music video for ‘Love Dealer‘.

The interview is also really interesting, and it explains a lot of issues we were guessing about. I will translate the interview as soon as possible but in the mean time a little preview:

Like you are a normal dutch girl?
“Ofcourse, I have a different life style like most girls my age, but apart from that I am just Esmée. It wouldn’t be right if I would pretend I am somebody else, right? Since last year I am for most of the time in America of England. For shoots, tours or promotion of my album. My single ‘Outta Here‘ reach number seven in England. An other single, a collaboration with the UK rapper Chipmunk, reached number 3. My full-album is just released in the US, and next year my new single with Aggro Santos will be released. I think everything is just as fun. Which girl wouldn’t like being prepared for a shoot or doesn’t want to wear nice clothes? ”

One point of criticism: couldn’t you bring Justin today?
“Oh, no. He has a really busy schedule. On top of that Justin choice to not but himself too much in the picture. He is asked for different US television shows, but he says: ‘It’s about you.’. It’s not that he is placing me in his shadow, but he feels like: my album is finished, I am the artist, I have to do it on my own. He is allowed to give my career a kicksstar, but in the end it’s up to me. Justin doesn’t want to say all the time: ‘I discovered this girl’. My next album is going to be more my own. I have so much to learn, and I think I would never be okay for 100%. I am a perfectionist, right? I see myself as a good bottle of wine: it becomes better within the years. It looks like you aren’t done with me just yet [laughs] ”

I think the part above of the interview explains a lot. It also explains why Justin is not too much involved. And I think it’s a good thing. He is right; Esmée has to do it on her own and I am sure she is going to make it on her own! The release with the uk artist is next year, most likely January 2011 with the release of his album.

7 November, 2010 · Grand Opening: Press Archive – Two New Interviews
Posted by · Category: B.Tempted, Interview · 17 Comments

Esmée is currently promoting the B.Tempt’d campaign ‘Get Breast Cancer Outta Here‘ because as you may know she is spokeswoman and model for the brand. The brand was just released for the first time in the UK so Esmée is promoting it in London.

She spoke to the UK website Company to talk about the campaign, her career and more. You can read the excerpt below, it’s a nice interview. The full interview can be found in our brand new Press Archive which was launched officially today.

So are you in touch with your sexier side?
It’s important as a woman to be confident and you shouldn’t be afraid to show what you’ve got. Underwear can really make or break an outfit so it’s definitely important to invest in some that will make you feel comfortable and look good.

What’s been your best performance so far?
Oh definitely when I was asked to be on The Oprah Winfrey Show, that was just insane. I’ve watched Oprah with my mum ever since I was little and I’d always tell people I was going to be on there but I never really thought it would happen, so when it did I was more nervous than I’d ever been in my life! But Oprah could see that and she said ‘It’s OK’ and just gave me a hug.

We’d love that! Are there any UK artists you’d really like to collaborate with?
I love Tinie Tempah; I think he’s great. I’d also like to work with Pixie Lott.

Another interview was released online with Glam UK, the full interview can be found in our new press archive. The excerpt is below:

How did it feel to be the first artist to be signed to Justin Timberlake’s label?
It was crazy and surreal. We started writing together (that’s how the album came about) and he’s so down to earth and just such a great person to watch and learn from. He’s a true showman.

What motivated you to start making music?
It’s just always been in me. As a child I don’t think I stopped singing and I’ve been so lucky how its all turned out.

Were you nervous on the shoot?
The shoot was awesome, just so much fun. Of course, I worked out a bit more than usual in the run up. I hit the treadmill thinking ‘you’ve got to do this lingerie justice!’.

Esmée made an appereance at the Edisons Pop 2010 as you may know yesterday. She had an interview with the dutch blog NL Blog Pop and talked about the collaboration between an UK Artist, about her plans for next year and more. You can read the transcription below. Added the screencaptures in our gallery. Previews, video and links are below:

What can we expect in 2011?
I just returned in the Netherlands and I am going back to New York next week and Miami to write new songs and I have a new single wich will be released in the UK with an english rapper. It will be his single, so that’s really fun!

Can you tell us who?
I’m not going to tell you who it is.

Will it be as good as the single ‘Until You Were Gone‘ (with Chipmunk?)
Yes, it’s really a smash hit.

Is it somebody well known?
Yes, it’s definitelty a big name in the UK.

When can we expect the single?
Well, I think in about a month?

So that’s exciting news right? The single will be released next month, and it’s the official single of the artist so I guess we can expect a music video as well. And the most exciting news, she is going to write new songs next week! It could be possible that the collaboration will be with Taio Cruz or Aggro Santos since she said she would love to work with both of them. But we will see…
