Looks like Esmée is back, after spending a few days in Holland, in London again. She had a lovely interview yesterday with Total Acces. It’s a fun and cute interview! Be sure to listen to it below. She talks about shooting her music video ‘Love Dealer‘, Sex and the City, fashion and a lot more. They also aired a shot audio of what Chipmunk has to say about her. It’s really nice!

Esmée is featured in another dutch magazine, she is also gracing the cover of MusicMaker. She is featured in an article of the dutch Beau Monde, she talks about her best vacation memory: her vacation with her parents and sister to Kreta when she was 10 years old. I will translate the full article really soon but Esmée loved her to Kreta. If she is away from home, wich is around 20 days a month, she thinks back to that vacation because it is a good memory. I also added more photos of a much younger Esmée in our gallery.

I will be going to Paris tomorrow for a few days, I will be back friday night so no updates for me for a few days. I will catch up as soon as I’m back. So the only days I can’t update you are tomorrow and tuesday. But I believe Esmée is celebrating a short holiday herself so I expect no big news while I’m away.

Esmée, Lisa Lois and Nikki are gracing the cover of the dutch magazine ‘MusicMaker‘. They are all suddenly at the top: Esmée got discovered via youtube, Lisa Lois won X-Factor and Nikki Idols 4. The interview is in dutch, they talked about their music, working on their debut, writing their own work and more.

Personally, I think it’s one of the best interviews of Esmée yet. They really talked about her music and her ideas of music. I will translate the interview as soon as possible but now some excerpts:

Writing
“It was a relief to notice how relax the professionals are at the top”, confesses Esmée, “It’s different with each producer, but some of them go back to the basics. You sit with each other behind the piano and write a song quitely.”

Product
Esmée: “I am aware, despite of the creative mood in the studio, that you are making a product. A product that sells big time. It has to be promoted, not all promotion activities are fun. I’m still telling, 4 year afterwards, that I got discovered via youtube by Justin Timberlake.”

Fans
“I have a great audience and I hope they will grow with me in the years to come!” said Esmée.

Show
Esmée: “The main element is music, but I also have my own dancers to make it look good. I love the show element! What if I had an endless budget? Oh, I would really go all the way with fireworks, an orkest and a group of men who throw my in the ski!”

Playbacken
“If I do playback I sing along, only the microphone is off. And Auto-Tune … It’s just an effect. I don’t see it as a correction for you voice: I never use it live!”

America
“The mood in the Netherlands is: ‘Just act normal’ … There for I’m really glad I can work in America, now idea is too crazy. And I think it’s amazing to do a collaboration with artist I admire.”

Love Dealer
“I just released my new single ‘Love Dealer‘ and the prospect is good. I’m doing everything I can!”

Future
“What will the future bring me? Maybe a conceptual album, new collaborations .. Who knows? I know for sure I’m not going to be the girl who got discovered via youtube by Justin Timberlake!”

Please credit us if you use these scans or the translation of the interview!

Billboard Magazine added more videos on their official youtube account of Esmée. She was the artist of Music Monday this week. She also performed her debut single for the US ‘Love Dealer‘ and her European debut single ‘Outta Here‘ acousticly. Billboard Magazine also had a Question & Answer interview with Esmée, she speaks about her debut single ‘Love Dealer‘, working with Justin Timberlake and more. You can watch all the videos below. Screencaptures will be added soon, I also added an addition to the photoshoot Esmée did for Billboard Magazine in our gallery.

Justin Timberlake recently sat down with Metro to discuss his latest launch of the female version of Givenchy’s perfume Play in Paris. The interviewer also asked him about our Esmée! It’s so good to see how much he believes in Esmée and her talent!

Recently, you made the video for Love Dealer Life Without You [they made a mistake in the single] with Holland’s Esmee Denters. What do you think of her?
Esmee is a true talent and very funny, and very soulful. She’s still very young, but she’s like me in my younger days, enterprising and not afraid. I like that. Her voice is very American, but her character is very European.

What do you mean, European?
Europeans don’t have an attitude. You are very well able to separate work from your private life. You have to be able to do that, otherwise you’ll go mad.
