The news is coming in slowly the last few weeks because Esmée is currently working in the studio for her second album. Her debut single of her second album is set to release this Spring, so hopefully it’s not too long away, and her album will be released late summer 2011. As you all know Esmée moved to London in January as she has been working with different producers and songwriters for her second album. She is currently in New York and will go to LA as well to work on her second album.

If you are follow Esmée via twitter (@esmeeworld) you notice she is keeping us up-to-date via her twitter on her working progress of her album. She isn’t giving away too much, but the tweets so far sounds promising!

She is also blogging frequently, with fashion mood boards, funny photos/videos but also personal blogs via That Girl From Youtube. If you have read her bogs, I believe Esmée is much more in control when it comes to her second album which is a good thing if you ask me. She doesn’t only write how good the progress is going, which most of the time is all you hear from artist when they promote an album, but she also writes about her insecurities, thoughts and shows us she is only human. I find it inspiring to read, and I feel like she involves her fans and followers really personal with her second album.

Esmée is currently in London -she left January 10 from the Netherlands- and will move in to her own apartment around Belsize park soon.

Over the past few days she already started working in the studio. She worked with Ben Cullum and K-Gee. She already finished 3 songs and looks like it’s going to be a mixture of styles. She wrote a song for the club and someting ‘Rockpurban‘ (Rock, Pop, Urban). Esmée will also worked with producers Efexx and Flipz R1.

It could happen that Esmée will release an EP instead of an album. For those who don’t know an EP is an Extended Play. It contains more music, most of the time around six singles, then a single but it’s too short to qualify as an album. She asked her fans what they wanted, and as far as I saw most of the fans wanted an album. What do you prefer?

It’s good to hear all the new buzz about her second album right? And I love the fact she is involving us in her writing and studio time so much. Let’s hope she is still filming her journey too. The album/EP is set to release this spring so only a few more months until we can hear new Esmée music!

The website – it’s for members only – Lockerz posted a new video with introduction of Esmée herself. You can watch the video below. She looks really beautiful. A few days ago Esmée let us know via twitter she was going to the hairdresser and as you can see in the video her hair is shorter and a little bit brighter. Looks really amazing.

The title is maybe a little bit misleading but Esmée gave us a little preview into her second album via twitter. As updated before she is currently writing, recording and brainstorming for her second album. She will return to London and record songs in the studio in January of next year. She already finished recording some songs, but it’s not sure they will end up on her second album.

Esmée thinks being an artist is about growth and sees a second album as a important album maybe the most important one because you can determine what you are worth. She is really proud of her debut album; but she has grown as an artist but also as a person. Her second album is going to show us growth and maturity – she says: “It will blow you away. I promiss i will deliver and this time arround its going to be bigger and better“.

Some fans, including me, were wondering why there was/is so little promotion of her debut album in the US or around the world. Well her response to that: “Artist work when you are not seeing them.. The promo is easy, you just show up and do your thing. Creating the magic is the hard part.“.

So the conclusion we can make is: her debut album was really a learning process about finding her own musical voice, she takes distance from youtube because she want to be known for Esmée and not ‘that girl who sings cover on youtube’. She is going to focus on her second album, making it better then her debut album and let’s hope they will release and promote this world wide. Because I truly believe in Esmée: she is going to make it. We have seen her grow, in her performance and appearance but she is still true to herself. I see this first years of her career as a good thing: I think she is now prepared for the though music business and it’s all good in the long term.

I know some fans are a little bit disappointed in how things went down, all I can say: keep supporting and Esmée and her career. Because I know she is just at the beginning. Yesterday, november 23th, was Esmée’s second twitter anniversairy. She joined twitter on november 731 days ago as of today. Her first ever tweet was: Travelling 3:42 PM Nov 23rd, 2008 from web. In the first months she wasn’t using twitter actively but luckily for us that changed now. Twitter is a great way for Esmée to give the fans an idea of what she is up to; always love to read her tweets. Let’s hope many more years will follow.
