CHOC children’s hospital

CHOC Children’s has been steadfastly committed to providing the highest quality medical care to children. Affiliated with the University of California, Irvine, our regional pediatric healthcare network includes a state-of-the-art 238-bed main hospital facility in the City of Orange, a hospital-within-a-hospital in Mission Viejo. CHOC also offers many primary and specialty care clinics, over 100 additional programs and services, a pediatric residency program, and four centers of excellence – The CHOC Children’s Heart, Cancer, Neuroscience, and Orthopaedic Institutes.

Involvement
Esmée was part of a special benefit event hosted by Kiss FM. Esmée, among other artist, were part of a special performance and visit to one of the CHOC Children’s Hospitals.

Make a Wish Foundation

Make-A-Wish Foundation has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. The Foundation’s mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish® experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors, and entire communities.

Involvement
Esmée was part of one of the wishes the foundation made come true. She surprised a little girl and her classmates with a surprise visit and private performance. Esmée is willing to be part of more future projects/dreams of the foundation.

MTV Staying Alive Foundation

MTV Staying Alive Foundation gives out small sums of money to young people who we believe in – who we trust – and who we are genuinely inspired by. These young people have one thing in common – they’re fighting to conquer HIV and AIDS in their local communities in the most creative and innovative ways.

Involvement
Esmée attended a special dinner (January 27, 2011) hosted by Kelly Rowland to support, raise awareness and give information about the foundation. Esmée was really impressed by the work of the foundation. She thinks “they really do incredible work.”

OxFarm

Oxfam is an international confederation of 14 organizations working together in 99 countries and with partners and allies around the world to find lasting solutions to poverty and injustice.

Involvement
Esmée released (November 6, 2007) the single “Crazy Place” which she co-wrote in Sweden. She was inspired by Oprah Winfrey and decided to donate all artist benefits to Oxfarm. Also Justin Timberlake and Tennman Records decided to support the cause by donating.

Ronald McDonald House Charities


While Ronald McDonald House Charities cannot make medicine taste better or take away painful treatments, we can help lessen the burden and ensure more than 4 million families a year have the stability and resources they need to keep their child healthy and happy.

The foundation exists out of multiple core programs including Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Room.

Involvement
Esmée is a ambassador of the Ronald McDonald Foundation (Ronald McDonald Kinderfonds) in her homecountry the Netherlands were she is local ambassador of the Ronald McDonald house in Arnhem which is one of the newest houses around the world. Esmée tries to attend as many events as possible to raise awareness for the foundation. She visited the opening of the house in Arnhem (April 5, 2010) and attended the celebrating of the 300th Roland McDonald House opening world wide late 2010 (August 13, 2010).

Shriners Hospitals for Children

Shriners International supports Shriners Hospitals for Children, a health care system of 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing pediatric specialty care, innovative research, and outstanding teaching programs for medical professionals. Children up to age 18 with orthopaedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate are eligible for care and receive all services in a family-centered environment, regardless of the patients’ ability to pay.

Involvement
During the very first “Justin Timberlake and Friends concert” Esmée and Justin performed their collaboration “Follow My Lead“. The concert was part op the special Shriners Hospitals for Children Golf tournament hosted by Justin to raise awareness and money for the cause. The collaboration released (November 18th, 2008) a few days after the event and all the benefits were donated to the cause.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the global leader of the breast cancer movement, having invested nearly $1.5 billion since inception in 1982. As the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists, we’re working together to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®, and generous contributions from our partners, sponsors and fellow supporters, we have become the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.

Involvement
Esmée and B.Tempt’d joined forces for the Fi(gh)t for the Cure campaign to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation and raise awareness and money for the foundation. Together they launched the “Get Breast Cancer Outta Here” campaign were Esmée was spokeswoman for.
