I honestly think you guys read too much into it… About the unfollowing I mean, I think it’s just an error and if I was Esmée I wouldn’t call Justin an be like ‘Why did you unfollow me?’ That would be a bit weird ;)

It seems like Justin is letting Esmée free, let her work and find her own sound. And I think part of it has to do with the fact that Esmée wanted to do her own music, write her own songs. She has just the bad luck with the economy, records labels are dropping artist but also employees frequently for the last (few) year(s).

So I don’t think she is avoiding the Justin Timberlake question, I just think she wants be recognized as Esmée and not ‘that girl who got signed by Justin Timberlake’. I think it wouldn’t hurt her if Justin is involved in her second album, BUT in the end it’s Esmée who has to break through.

@ Thijs / Gerard – You can download spotify and just subscribe as a free account, it cost you nothing. And I am only going to use it for when Esmée is going to use it. I use Itunes with my music when I listen to music, but I honestly think it’s a good thing that Spotify exist.

Ik heb nu een Spotify premium account gedurende bijna een jaar en ik heb in die tijd meer muziek dan ooit geluisterd. Tuurlijk, het kost me 120 euro per jaar maar er gaat bijna geen dag voorbij of ik luister niet één of twee nieuwe cd’s. Alles is uit te proberen (normaal moet je daar echt het illegale download pad op) en alleen wat me echt bevalt sla ik op in mijn playlist.

Voor een muziekliefhebber als ik is het echt een geschenk uit de hemel.

Waar ik overigens opeens aan moet denken. Beginnende artiesten of artiesten zonder een platenlabel kunnen vrij gemakkelijk en goedkoop muziek uitbrengen via Spotify zonder dat er geld uitgegeven hoeft te worden aan drukkosten, promotie, etc.

Since all of you were a bit worried about the fact that Esmée may not be signed to Tennman records anymore I did a bit of searching around for you. I do know that I still have to e-mail the same team when I update Esmeeworld.com, so I think she still has the same team who helps her.

However I did visit Tennmanrecords.com today and I noticed Esmée isn’t listed in the sidebar anymore, however all the other 3 artist are still there. I am a bit worried she is not signed to Tennman anymore, which I found odd because I believe she was signed for like 4 or 5 albums. I also found it weird she hasn’t announced moving to another label, or writing anything about this… So yeah, I am kind of worried now …

About the Tennman records website, this really worries me! If you count all the facts then we can say she is certainly not signed to the label anymore. Guess she didn’t get enough money in their drawer. And I have more bad news. I just checked the Interscope website and she isn’t listed with the other artists anymore. But to what label is she signed then, she can’t do it on her own, right?

I am worried now. Man what’s happening between Esmée and Tennman Records? She needs to tell us something now! We need to tweet her some questions about this right now. We need some answer. I really hope she isn’t going to release her second album on her own, she needs a label. This news broke my heart. :-(

Don’t quite know what to think of this. I wouldn’t think they dropped her. She is/was the biggest artist on the imprint. Lots of questions….whose footing the bill for all the studio time/production she’s racked up in London? Tennman/Interscope hasn’t put her out on any appearances or publicity gigs for quite some time. B-Tempted has accounted for all her recent appearances. I wonder if Timberlakes’s focus on acting, movies, TV, golf and fashion versus music has anything to do with this…either from his end or even her end. Where’s Billy Mann? Is he still with her? If he is, what the hell is he doing? At any rate, I think somethings need to change. What’s it been, 3 or 4 years since she signed with them. Not so much to show for it as should be at this juncture. We all expected much more by this time.

I hope she’s signed to a big label now. My biggest fear it’s if she will release her album on her own without labels. I am really worried now.

I think she’s still with Billy Mann. When she went to New York months ago, they met there and she said that she was surprising everyone with her new music.

I guess we are all worried. But why do we always have to guess for all these things. Why don’t they give us some official news?! You’ve got to admit, their PR-management sucks!

If I recall, when she went to NY some months age, it was a B’Tempted gig. Billy Mann is a producer/writer/manager. I haven’t seen him doing any of those things over the past few years.
Oh well, bottom line, none of us know what’s going on, if anything. I do know, we all want to see Esmée succeed and be a powerhouse in the music biz. It’s just getting harder and harder to be patient. Patience was never my strong suite anyway….lol.

But I honestly think there is a big chance she is not signed to Tennman anymore, since they don’t update their twitter page with Esmée updates. In the Netherlands she is signed to Universal Music and I thought she was represented by Cherrytree Records in the UK, which is part of Interscope. She is represented by ABB Group and her she still got Jonathan as manager and I believe Billy Mann as well.

@ Tifanny – She is not blogging on Esmeeworld because they are still working on her official website. Thatchickfromyoutube.com (her tumblr account) is now her temp official website. They new esmeeworld.com will launch when her second album does, and then I will update it again so I expect Esmée to do the same with blogs.

It’s all just guessing, but I am confident Esmée will explain it all one day. I said this before, but it’s not a good time for a lot of artist in the music industry. Not only because of the economy but also in general. Therefor the record labels have to let go people, not only artist but also employees. You here a lot of artist bringing out their album on their own these days, maybe Esmée is going to do the same?

She talked about releasing an EP, I really hope she doesn’t because EP means most of the time less attention from the media. But she could also release an EP and get more attention again, prove herself. Her youtube buzz is over, and she has to create her own buzz. But it’s quite common for artist to release EP’s.

Esmée is surrounded by good people, she has the support of her family and friends. Her managers, both Jonathan and Billy Mann, got her back since the beginning of her career. Especially Jonathan. I still think the people from Tennman records are involved. All people who believe in her, and will do everything they can for her career.

Esmée is also still listed at Universal Music in the Netherlands so I assume she is still signed there. If I recall correctly, I believe she had a meeting a while back while she was in Holland? Maybe to discuss the next steps in her career with Universal.

I really hope so @lindsey that it will a turn out great for Esmee. I dont think Tenmanrecords and Interscope is involved anymore in Esmee her career. Cause recently i checked both of the websites and she was still on it. All of a sudden she isnt on it anymore and Justin unsubscripted her on twitter.
Esmee also ignored Justin quenstions which i complete understand know.

I think Esmee is releasing it on her own or with a new label but i think they both agreed on keeping it a secret until Esmee’s second album release so that theire won’t be negative stories about her. Cause the media can built an artist up or theire someone down.

Wouldn’t surprise me a bit to see Tennman close up shop. It was a side project for Timberlake anyway and now his focus is away from music and on a lot of other interests.
Hate to say it but if her record company is based in the U.K., it’s going to be twice as hard breaking into the big U.S. market. But then again, maybe it’s best they concentrate in Europe and re-establish herself there with baby steps….it’s still a huge market. Face it, she’s starting all over again from scratch. It’s been too long since her debut album and any radio play (non existent in the U.S. anyway), too long since her last major tour, and too long past all the YouTube hype. Tennman failed to capitalize there. They pretty much failed to capitalize on anything in my opinion. For the last 2 years she should have been on the road gigging, especially in the summer tour/festival seasons and in something more than cramped RV opening up for some second rate Jonas Brothers knock off boy band. She should have been in the studio between gigs and putting out singles. If it weren’t for B’Tempted, she would be completely off the map. They, at least, got her some department store gigs. What the hell has her label been doing? I wanted to say this a long time ago but, quite uncharacteristically of me, I kept my trap shut and waited patiently…again not one of my few virtues…… :-) (and I ramble on a lot) After all these years invested in being her fan, I just want to see her get what should be hers. She deserves it. There…phewww…sorry for the rant. Where’s the tylenol. :-)

Well, i’m kinda late LOL.

Yeah, it looks like she’s going to another label, but i DO think that it’s a positive thing. Because a lot of labels are coming together nowadays (Jive Records for example is going away, and will be just part of Universal Music I believe), but that doesn’t mean the artist won’t have a label. I think Tennman Records failed and now she’s just part of Interscope Records (U.S.) and Polydor Records (UK). Which isn’t that big of a deal for Esmée. Besides, people will finally stop talking about Justin Timberlake and how he discovered her etc. etc.

Basically: I think it’s a good thing, and we don’t have to worry at all.

I’m going to hold off on the analyzing until we have something official, but what I can say right now is that I’m very disappointed/angry With the way Justin & Co have handled things thus far…

Hmm, I think she is still with Universal and Polydor Records, not with Tennman Records anymore and I am not sure about Interscope. Leaving Tennman Records could be a decision of the records label, or Esmée and her management, or both. Because it is obvious that Tennman is not doing a great job: Matt Morris, Freesol and Bren are not getting anywhere (so far) either. They all take a looooooong time to release something, anything. It is a bit suspicious that it takes 4 highly motivated artists so long to release things. Because the past experience, I would say that leaving Tennman Records is not a bad thing. It is sad that the project did not work out, but it is better to move on to a new label than keep the standstill/downhill at Tennman Records. I hope she moved to a label with more experience. Billy Mann is President of Creative at BMG North America, so I suppose it is even possible that she moved to BMG.

We will hear what it going on, when we can more information about the new single and album I suppose. I am thrilled that Karl Gordon is about to started mixing the whole thing. I suppose we can expect more information (and music?) this month.
