Esmée made an appereance at the Edisons Pop 2010 as you may know yesterday. She had an interview with the dutch blog NL Blog Pop and talked about the collaboration between an UK Artist, about her plans for next year and more. You can read the transcription below. What can we expect in 2011?
I just returned in the Netherlands and I am going back to New York next week and Miami to write new songs and I have a new single wich will be released in the UK with an english rapper. It will be his single, so that’s really fun!Can you tell us who?
I’m not going to tell you who it is.Will it be as good as the single ‘Until You Were Gone‘ (with Chipmunk?)
Yes, it’s really a smash hit.Is it somebody well known?
Yes, it’s definitelty a big name in the UK.When can we expect the single?
Well, I think in about a month?
So that’s exciting news right? The single will be released next month, and it’s the official single of the artist so I guess we can expect a music video as well. And the most exciting news, she is going to write new songs next week! It could be possible that the collaboration will be with Taio Cruz or Aggro Santos since she said she would love to work with both of them. But we will see…

I’m still too disappointed from last night. I’m not satisfied. We need more fans. Our fanbase is just too small. We are drowning in the music business. Even in Holland. The lack of success is the reason. And all thanks to….. you know what.
I won’t give up, but something is gonna happen soon.

She needs to release a smash hit. They should release a 4th single one week after the release of this collab song.
@NiceGuy – I am excited too! It’s good to hear she is writing/going to write new songs.
@Fbcforever – Well, I am dissapointed but ‘Outta Here’ peaked in the Netherlands over a year ago and ‘No Surrender’ is still going strong .. About the fanbase, she has a big fanbase but maybe not as loyal as you ;) I mean, we still have around the 700/800 unique visitors a day wich is a lot and the hits are even better. In June we even peaked at 1100 unique visitors a day. So that’s around 1/2 million unique visitors a month. I guess when you compare her to other artist she has a small fanbase, but I think the big problem is not being succesfull in the US. When you make it there, the whole world knows you. But I still believe she will make it, and let’s face it she is succesfull. I mean, what other dutch artist can say they did win an EMA, 2 TMF Awards, has two top 10 UK hits and I can go on with a debut album right? I mean, maybe overseas (America) not yet, but I am sure it will come when they give her a chance to show the US how good she is.
BTW: I am not sure you know what unique is, but when somebody visits the site that day for the first time it counts as an unique visitors. When they visit it for the second time and so on it doesn’t count as an unique visitor but as a hit.
I think/hope the collab is between her and Taio Cruz. If it’s true then she will maybe also gain some fans in the US because Taio is also quiet well known over there.
She also met DJ Tiesto yesterday. Maybe she can collab with him also?? :-)
@Lindsey She is successful when you look at the rates of Holland or any other small country. But when it comes to the big deal, I’m afraid we still gotta wait for that. Yes, Outta Here did well abroad, but the next singles where something else. I don’t count the collaborations cuz the credit goes to the main artist. And her album didn’t do very well either. They could have done great with her album and singles, but actually they didn’t do a thing with it. Thats why I hope that the second album is gonna be more organized. No more singles releasing in only one country. Get a worldwide release, get it on the market, do some promo for a chance.

Argh, what does it matter that I keep on whining and boring you guys. It’s no use. We’re all just bystanders, watching how things turn out. I’ve been really negative the last weeks and for that I’m sorry. Just know that I still support her.
